Ganesh Dal & Besan Mill
Our first factory, set up by the Shah family in 1984. Today it's a big, well-equipped campus that cleans and mills pulses into India's most trusted besan brands.
We have two factories — one in Shirwal for besan and pulses, one in Chakan for flour. Both use modern milling machines and have been refined by 40 years of family know-how.
We follow the same 6 steps every single time. That's what it takes to make grain that food businesses can rely on.
We buy directly from Maharashtra farmers and trusted mandis. We choose grain by type and quality — not just the cheapest option.
We use magnets, stone-removers, colour-sorters and fans to remove any dirt or foreign material before milling begins.
We control the moisture and temperature of the grain carefully. This is one of the most important steps for getting the right texture and quality.
Our European roller mills grind the grain to the exact right size — different for each product grade we make.
We test every batch for moisture, protein, gluten, and particle size. No bag leaves the factory until it passes.
From 500 g retail pouches to 50 kg industrial sacks — everything is sealed in food-safe packaging with a batch code for full traceability.
We don't just check quality at the end. We check it at every step — from when the grain arrives at our gate to when a sealed bag leaves for delivery.
Every load of grain that comes in is tested for moisture, cleanliness and type before we accept it. If it doesn't meet our standards, it goes back — before we even start milling.
Before each production run, we check and set up all our cleaning machines — the destoners, colour-sorters, and magnets — so everything works perfectly from the start.
We keep a close eye on moisture levels throughout milling. Our machine settings are checked regularly to make sure every batch meets the right specification.
Once milling is done, our in-house lab tests each batch for protein, gluten, ash content, particle size and colour. Only batches that pass get packed.
Every packed bag gets a batch code and is checked against the order before it's sent out. If there's ever a question, we can trace it all the way back to the original grain lot.
Our mills are regularly checked against India's food safety rules and the requirements of our big-brand clients. The standard we hold ourselves to is simple: every batch has to be good enough to carry our family's name — because it does.
